The Emerging Talent of the Year Award Nominees

CAFA is honoured to include some of the most respected individuals in Canadian arts and fashion as members of our Jury, our Nominating Committee and as Ambassadors. Their knowledge, experience and passion will help shape the Canadian fashion landscape.

The Emerging Talent of the Year Award will be presented to an innovative Canadian designer who is emerging as a true creative force in Canadian fashion.

Beaufille

Beaufille is a Toronto, Canada based womenswear and accessories brand founded by sisters Chloe and Parris Gordon. Beaufille is a contemporary line that references historical design elements within a modern context to create a sophisticated tough girl aesthetic. “Beaufille represents every girl who has an eye for sophisticated construction and who appreciates the juxtaposition between old and new.”

Eliza Faulkner

Eliza Faulkner is a fashion designer based in the Cowichan Valley on beautiful Vancouver Island. Eliza trained in London at Central St. Martin’s College of Art & Design and gained valuable work experience in the studios of Erdem, Zandra Rhodes, and Roland Mouret. In 2012 she re-located home to the Island to launch her namesake label.

Laura Siegel

Laura Siegel is an award-winning fashion designer based in New York and Toronto. Her ethically handcrafted, easy-to-wear textured pieces are designed in collaboration with artisans in Asia and Latin America. After receiving her formal design education at Parsons School of Design in New York City and London’s Central Saint Martins’, Siegel honed her skills in silver-smithing, knitting, natural dyeing, embroidery, and accessory design with top industry professionals and skilled artisans.

Martin Lim

MARTIN LIM is the fusion of two cultures, two worlds, but mainly the merger of two designers who proved themselves on the international level, they are Danielle MARTIN & Pao LIM. Besides winning prestigious national and international awards, Martin and Lim are devoted designers who gained valuable experience while working with internationally renowned designers. Martin and Lim are both graduated from the MA Fashion Womenswear of the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design.

Sarah Stevenson

Sarah Stevenson Design is a luxury ready-to-wear clothing & accessories brand that was founded in 2010 by Textile & Clothing Designer Sarah Stevenson. After being awarded a full scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Fashion and Textile Design by the Institute of European Design in Milan, Sarah continued to hone her craft through the vivid exploration of fabrics and prints that would become the cornerstone of her collections.

Sid Neigum

Born in Alberta, trained in New York, and based in Toronto, Neigum holds stockists in New York, L.A, Hong Kong, Seoul, Montreal and Toronto. Neigum was the recipient of the Toronto Fashion Incubator’s New Labels Award in 2012, Western Canada Fashion Weeks Emerging Designer Award, and Nextfest’s Emerging Artist Award to name a few.
