Susie Sheffman is one of the most influential Fashion Directors in the Canadian industry, having spent 30 years creating award-winning fashion editorial content for Canada’s leading magazines as well as shaping the vision for national brands, retailers and ecom clients as a Creative Director and Style Consultant. (clients include Holt Renfrew, Joe Fresh, Roots, Winners and The Bay.)
From her first gig as a fashion obsessed display artist at Holt Renfrew, up the ranks at Flare, to Fashion Director at both Fashion Magazine and digital start up, Eluxe, Sheffman’s career actually began at age 5, “editing” Eaton’s catalogues, Barbie brochures and forcing friends to play “store” in her bedroom. (No-one left without a tissue-wrapped package and a receipt!)
Sheffman has had the opportunity to collaborate with such international fashion icons as Linda Evangelista, Kevin Aucoin, Walter Chin, Coco Rocha, Jessica Stam and Daria Werbowy, as well as styling numerous celebrities including Rihanna, Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Claire Daines, Ashley Olsen and Jennifer Hudson. Sheffman was one of a select few Canadian editors who regularly attended international fashion shows and brings her vast knowledge and trend forecasting to every brand she works with, from product development, to styling and creative direction.
Sheffman is a multiple winner of Gold and Silver National Magazine Awards and was named Best Fashion Editor at the 2011 P&G Beauty and Grooming Awards. She was recently featured amongst Toronto’s Most Stylish in Toronto Life’s Fall 2013 Stylebook. Sheffman, a mother of two twenty-somethings, loves playing tennis, cooking, travelling and dashing from spin to pilates to yoga to dance class.
